TERMS

Please note due to a number of requests, we have decided to give you extra time to send your articles.

The final and definitive deadline for all entries is the 21st of June, 2012. Please submit your work through the on-line form on time.

Selected participants will receive an e-mail with a web address which they need to follow in order to register and become able to add articles to their profiles. The deadline for this is the 24th of June.

On the 26th of June all submissions will be published, and the rating process will begin and last one week.

Winners list will be announced after the 3rd of July, 2012.

JUDGING

All articles will be judged by readers. The directives we take to measure an article's popularity among the audience are as follows:
  • a total page views;
  • a star rank it received;
  • how many times it was marked as a favourite;
  • how much engagement it generates (comments received);
  • a number of people sharing it.
Please note, in order to provide a fair ranking and prevent dishonest activity, we employ advanced mathematical formulas created to root out any suspicious activity and ensure that the competition is fair.

WHAT CONTENT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We would like you to write an interesting, well-illustrated article similar to the ones we have on Fogs. Feel free to browse the website to get an idea of what we are looking for. There is no imposed subject of your writing, rely on your individual interests and writing skills and provide us with one of the following:

  • science fun facts, e.g. ‘10 More or Less Known Religious Symbols’;
  • technology trivia, e.g. ‘Tech Company to Build Science Ghost Town’;
  • a photo report from an interesting place or event;
  • an illustrated tutorial (a 'How to’ - style), e.g. 'How to Love Yourself: 7 Steps';
  • a humorous ranking-style list or compilation, e.g., ‘Top 15 Cutest Animals in the World’.
All entries should be minimum 500 words long. One author can submit an unlimited number of articles. They all need to be added under the same name but separately, via the aforesaid on-line form.

Tip: Bear in mind that readers will be the ones to judge your work, so try to write on a catchy and intriguing subject, and deliver your message in an entertaining, coherent form. Add proper illustrative images to each paragraph, and refer back to reliable information sources. Before you start writing, we recommend you to have a look at our Writing Guidelines.
